Okay, so my USB thumb drive is still giving me a world of pain. Today I downloaded and installed the latest gentoo-sources for my AMD64 desktop. 2.6.19-gentoo-r5 I believe. So far they’re working great. I didn’t shoot for a slim kernel this time. I included everything I always do and then some to make sure I got everything I needed. I don’t like configuring and compiling my own kernel but at the same time I find my self being more and more lazy about doing it. I used to pick my way through the whole thing removing every single package that I could. Now I’m sitting there staring at the menu thinking, “sure, why not?” I must admit though this kernel is doing a lot better for me. My USB thumb drive now works perfectly through the USB ports on my G11 keyboard. I still get a hard freeze through the ports on the front of my tower though. What is up with that I have no idea. I’m down to just not using them now. The keyboard is just as convenient.

So I’m working on modifying fluxbox for Wolvix. How is it going? Slowly. Like most things in my life these days I don’t seem to have much motivation to do it. I’m getting there though. I have all the windows open, I juts have to do it. I’ll post some screen shots though. Then you can rag on me for how terrible a job I’ve done ;) .

Enjoy the Penguins!
