After my last post on vim color schemes I actually got several comments, which is always surprising on my blog, and naturally, very inspiring. Two themes were suggested to me though, and both of them were actually really nice. The first is called xterm16. I like xterm16 a lot but its almost too dark. Though it does come in multiple flavors. As you will quickly discover as if you follow the link. The second was Ciaran’s theme which is actually really nice. Entitled inkpot, it in no way makes me think of ink pots when I use it. I have provided a screenshot of what it looks like below if your curious. For the moment I am going to use inkpot as my default color scheme until I get mine suite to the way I like it.
Creating a color scheme for vim reminds me of why I like open source software so much. It makes it very easy to learn how to do things on your own. Can you imagine how crappy vim would be if it wasn’t open source? How few color scheme there were be?
