Okay, I have quit using Beryl now, though it is still installed, because it appears to be the cause of random freeze ups. The kind of freeze ups you’d file a report on but there doesn’t seem to be anything thats constant except for the fact beryl is running. I don’t even have to be using it actually. Just having the little red ruby in my task bar is enough to send my computer into its own little world. I’m waiting for the next release. Then I’ll upgrade and resume using it. Hopefully what ever the kink is will be worked out. Pity, I really like Beryl.
I tired the other day to replace the Gnome foot on my menu with a Gentoo “G.” Yeah that didn’t work out so nice. Instead of replacing it I ended up crashing Gnome and causing it to fail to start. I ended up having to go in with a liveCD and delete all the extra icons I put in as an attempt to replace it. I’d still like to do it but at this point I’ll put off. To much information thats not backed up on my hard drive right now to crash it.
Enjoy the Penguins!
